You will need a Dslr with a lens. I only tried it with the 18-55mm kit lens, but it will probably work with other lenses as well.


Carefully, and always face down might I add.


And you're good to go. Had to use the pop flash and added the diffuser, just so the picture wouldn't explode.
It's a bit tedious and it might take some time to get the shot. But it's very cool. I am just amazed that you can even do that with the lens.
Though, as interesting as it is, it's probably not a good idea to do this too often. For fear of dust and the likes getting into the camera and dirtying the mirror and sensor.

Macro shots really fascinate me and I am saving to get a macro lens. But this will do for now keke.

You may find it more practical to reverse the 50mm in front of the kit lens - that way you get control over the aperture and can focus and zoom.
albert : Thanks for the tip. Certainly will reduce the chance of dust getting into in.
i have a micro lense...it costs me 3k plus back in the days...and im still using it cos its F mount on my d40 ehehe..my old cam is a f80...
i feel cheated...common, give a real lesson. i really would love some help n tips on macro shots.more how-to photo posts pls!
